Join our team as a Camp Counselor and make a positive impact on the lives of children in a fun and engaging summer camp environment.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor, guide, and inspire campers while creating lasting memories.
Our Camp Counselors must have successfully completed at least one year of college, and be enrolled for the following fall semester.
Current school teachers or school staff also make fabulous camp counselors! We only hire camp counselors that will demonstrate a love for children, and will protect our respected Club SciKidz brand.
Camp Counselors are directly responsible for camper safety and learning, in a ratio of 1 counselor to 10 campers.
Counselors are role models for our campers and will take this job seriously by providing positive and friendly interactions with the campers in an environment that allows the campers to feel safe, comfortable, and excited about science! Therefore, Camp Counselors (along with meeting the criteria listed above) must be HIGHLY energetic and demonstrate that they too are enjoying the camp experience! Requirements:
Enthusiastically engage campers by leading them through STEM experiments and lessons, hands-on projects, games, and activities for age groups ranging from Pre-Kindergarten-Rising 8th Graders (4-13 years).
Facilitate Pre and Post camp games and activities with campers.
Document all camp issues as needed including camper behavior and incidents.
Complete assigned responsibilities including set-up, clean-up, and program maintenance.
Assist with daily check-in and check-out.
Supervise lunchtime activities.
Build and maintain a good working rapport with co-workers, campers, and parents.
Work in a team environment, creating a safe and fun experience for children.
Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings.
