At Sylvan Learning Center, we teach students (Kindergarten through High School) at various levels to increase confidence and independence, providing them with skills that will last a lifetime.
We are currently looking for experienced tutors to deliver our programs on school campuses in the Pasadena area.
As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are:
Just Teaching.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Supervise, interact with, and motivate students Reward students for completed assignments Evaluate and document student progress Communicate student needs to the center director Inspire and develop a rapport with students Establish a fun learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Four year degree or equivalent required State or provincial teaching credentials preferred (current or expired) Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers Availability to work weekdays in the afternoon/early evening hours Compensation:
$17-$20/hour Recommended Skills Passionate Phonics Positive Attitude Reading Comprehension Teaching Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
