Leading independent producer and distributor of programming in the worldwide television marketplace is seeking an experienced senior accountant who excels in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required
3-5 years' experience in Corporate Accounting or Auditing required
Entertainment industry experience a plus
Public accounting experience in a Big 4 ideal
Solid working knowledge of film production and distribution accounting practices (in line with ASC 926) preferred but not required for a quick learner
Understanding and experience in dealing with foreign currencies and accounting
Experience with accounting software packages - QuickBooks and Intaact
Skilled with PCs, accounting software, and MS Office including advanced Excel skills
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain overall system of accounts, books and records on all transactions and assets
Ensure financials are accurate and in compliance with US GAAP standards and government regulations
Manage employee expense report process and ensure compliance with T&E policy
Ensure financial accounts are properly supported and reconciled
Manage residuals reporting and forecasting
Ensure timely completion of internal, bank, and other financials
Coordinate all aspects of annual audit review
Ensure accurate computation and payment of payroll, commissions, and expense reimbursements
Assist with quarterly participation statementsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
