Summary: Responsibility will be to manage all Oracle databases within the company. This is a hands-on position, and responsibilities will include database administration tasks. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys a challenge, who can work with minimal supervision and who can take a project from inception through completion.
Responsibilities:
Monitor databases and processes to ensure high level of availability
Backup and restore Oracle databases using RMAN
Perform tracing and debugging
Perform database monitoring including process and query optimization, troubleshooting of locking issues, monitoring of resource contention, analysis of queries, log files,
trace files, etc.
Manage tablespaces and indices
Apply patches, clone R12 instances, log SRs with Oracle Support and perform tuning of Oracle Applications in a Linux environment
Respond to trouble tickets and fix database issues promptly
Be available for after-hours / on-call support
Perform patch dependency analysis
Create and maintain UNIX/Linux scripts
Define concurrent managers, concurrent programs and printers
Provide production support for applications that run on Oracle databases
SKILL REQUIREMENTS AND BACKGROUND:
Must be US Citizen
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
Familiarity and previous experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control
Knowledge of Oracle database tools including SQL Plus, and TOAD
Experience in managing DataGuard and RAC, Oracle 10g and greater is a plus
UNIX/Linux scripting knowledge is a plus
Practical knowledge of parallel concurrent processing, tracing and debugging, defining concurrent managers and concurrent programs, managing database and applications security
Experience with performance tuning of both Application Tier and Database Tier is highly valued
Experience using RMAN for backup and recovery is a plus
Debug, execute, and peer review PL/SQL scripts, packages, and functions
Experience using latest Rapid Clone or similar technology
Knowledge of Oracle best practices and Database administration principles
Experience with providing production support for E-Business suite applications
Must have hands-on experience in installing R12 Applications software, applying patches, cloning R12 instances, logging SRs and performance tuning of Oracle Applications in a Linux environment

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in area of specialty is desired or at least 5 - 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Prior ERP experience is a must.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
