1992 Mercury Cougar Coupe purchased from Montebello Lincoln Mercury, off the showroom floor, in 1992!! Grandma wanted a vehicle because Grandpa had one, even though she didn't drive.
She bought it and had the dealer drive it to her garage in Los Angeles and never moved it again from the garage.
They would start it up every week for a few years until the battery died and Grandma got sick.
Then they never started again.
It's been in the garage for 30 years.
I moved it to my residence last year under rear tow and put it in my garage.
It hasn't been licensed since 1992 & is no longer on DMV record because she never registered it again.
It still has the original plates.
She never put the tag on the plates but she left it in the glovebox.
The car even has the leftover glue from the original selling sticker, which I also have.
I haven't registered it under my name yet, because I thought it might be of some value to the new owner to have it as a new clean one owner title since DMV has no record anymore.
Although, I do have the clean original title.
My wife doesn't want to drive it, she's happy with her Honda.
If I were to keep it, the only thing I would need to do is change the fluids, $200-$300 as per my mechanic.
As I wasn't looking for or need a new vehicle, I've decided to sell it.
This was a settlement of a debt from her family.
With only 42 miles it's really still a new car.
The underside is cleaner than the top side.
The interior is also in excellent condition.
An excellent new vehicle with some nostalgia.
