The seller re-acquired the car from the family friend after his father's passing and began a year-long upgrade in 2018.
It is an original California car.
The original engine for this car was a 295 hp 350 cu in V8.
As noted above, the Nova is now equipped with a turnkey West Coast Special 383 stroker motor sourced from WestCoast Engines (La Jolla, CA) in September 2018.
The Holley Snyper system continues to calibrate optimal operating settings due to the relatively few miles put on the engine since installation.
The original Muncie 4-speed transmission was rebuilt and powder coated.
The original 12-bolt rear end was retained.
New fuel lines, wiring and gas tank were installed.
The suspension was upgraded front and back as noted above.
All work was completed from 2018-19 by Jim Branham of Lake View Terrace, CA.
The body of the car is straight with no rust and the underside of the car is clean.
There are some minor scratches as noted in the accompanying pictures.
The vinyl top is in good shape with no tears or imperfections.
All chrome trim is original and in good shape.
The original seats and upholstery are in good condition, as is the headliner.
All gauges, with the exception of the clock, are in good working order.
The original tachometer is fully functional.
The car reportedly was rear-ended in the late 1990s under previous ownership.
Although the accident did not damage the frame, and the body was repaired and repainted, the car was tabbed with a salvage title.
Refer to the accompanying pictures of the rear of the car.
The salvage title remains in the seller's name.
MECHANICAL The car starts without any issues and the engine is strong.
The shifts are crisp and the clutch is and operates smoothly.
The brakes have plenty of stopping power.
Recent maintenance (November 2020) includes an oil change and raising the front end slightly to eliminate minor tire rub.
Recommended maintenance includes replacing the electric fan, possibly with a dual fan unit, as it does not provide consistently sufficient airflow pull through the radiator.
Minor transmission leak should be addressed but is not critical.
